Christauff produces the DeepTechFM, a podcast focused on the deeper, techier sounds encompassing deep house (writ large), tech house, and bass music, with a smattering of nu disco, UK house/garage and some occasional dubstep. The weekly show is broadcast on www.deradio.ca on Thursdays from 0900-1100 (-8 GMT).
Christauff began professionally DJing in 2004. It was all vinyl for him, then, now it’s all CDs, laptops, and controllers. As times change, DJing evolves. Over the years he’s played techno, trance, progressive house, electro house, deep house and tech house. For the last few years it’s been mainly tech house, deep house and bass music.
He ran multiple weekly dance parties for several years in Washington, DC with his crew District Ignition, playing opening sets for Paul van Dyk, BT, Chris Lake, Seb Fontaine, Menno de Jong, Jerome Isma-Ae, Uberzone, Charles Feelgood, Edgar V, Steve Duda (BSOD), Deepchild, and many others.
You can find him playing at a monthly residence at Marx Cafe every 2nd Thursday, from 9:30-12:30pm. He also plays around the DC/MD/VA (DMV) area at local clubs, parties and events.
Christauff loves everything about dance music. He once ran a music conference, worked a couple music venues, and has held hundreds of dance parties and underground warehouse gigs over the years. He takes this “hobby” more than a little seriously–though he keeps his day job.
He thinks he has a career and a life outside of this.
Maybe.
The lines are getting blurrier.
